What's included

A ceramic matcha bowl (chawan), a bamboo whisk (chasen), a whisk stand (kusenaoshi), a bamboo spoon (chashaku) and a fine-mesh sieve.

Matcha powder isn't included, so pair it with a tin of Mori Matcha to start your ritual

What they're for

  • Matcha bowl (chawan) gives you room to whisk
  • Bamboo whisk (chasen) blends powder and water into a light, even foam
  • Whisk stand (kusenaoshi) holds the whisk's shape and lets it dry properly between uses
  • Bamboo spoon (chashaku) measures out the right amount of matcha
  • Fine-mesh sieve (furui) sifts out any clumps before you whisk

Five simple tools, each doing one job well

How to use

Soak the whisk tines in warm water for about a minute before first use. Use the bamboo spoon to measure 1–2g of matcha (about ½–1 tsp) into the bowl, then add a small splash of warm, not boiling, water (around 80°C). Whisk in a quick zigzag until smooth and lightly foamy.

Top up with more water or your milk of choice, then enjoy warm or over ice

Care & cleaning

Rinse the bowl and whisk in warm water after use, no soap needed, and let everything air dry fully before putting it away. Avoid the dishwasher, and rest the whisk on its stand to help it keep its shape.

Looked after this way, the set will serve your daily ritual for a long time

Loved by our customers

5.0 out of 5

  • Love the quality, not bitter, smooth and the kit is just perfect

  • I just tried my first cup today, and it was amazing! I was genuinely impressed by the quality of the matcha, especially after having a few disappointing experiences with other companies in the past. Mori Matcha reminded me of the top-tier cafés I’ve visited, where the matcha is incredibly creamy, smooth, and free from that bitter taste. Thank you so much for putting such high-quality matcha out there. I’m really looking forward to enjoying the same amazing quality every month! 😍 P.S. would rate 10/10 ⭐

  • It was nice and smooth. I did like the tin it came in too

  • Great product!

  • Have it every morning now, so easy to make

Our story

From Uji to you

We kept ordering matcha that came out flat, bitter or barely green. If that was the best London had to offer, something wasn't right

In Uji, matcha is not an afterthought. Leaves are shade-grown, carefully milled and whisked within days of harvest. We worked directly with growers in Uji to bring small batches of ceremonial-grade matcha to London while still fresh
